Schedule of Events

Players are expected to attend the tryout sessions based on their date of birth. Please refer to the tryout schedule and age chart.

All players are encouraged to make their interest known to the club before tryouts by pre-registering.

This allows players an opportunity to provide their full attention to the evaluators and parents an opportunity to learn about Fishers SC. Players are EXPECTED to arrive 30 minutes prior to the evaluation/tryout session and be prepared for play wearing proper soccer attire (footwear/shin guards) and bringing an ample supply of water and ball. All FSC players form 2009-2010 should wear their practice apparel. Results will be posted on the club web site at the close of tryouts.

U8-U9 players only need attend the single session to be held on Wednesday, June 9 from 5:30 to 6:45 at Cumberland Park.  The June 19 session is ONLY for for players who could not attend on June 9.

Commitment

Playing competitive soccer is a serious commitment. FSC is committed to developing each player to the best of their ability. Players must be committed to attending club activities including tryouts, club camp (week prior to the fall season), training sessions, group sessions, games etc. The club/player commitment begins with registration and concludes at the end of the season in June 2011. Parents must be committed to all fees associated with the full year as well as all volunteer obligations including, but not limited to, field preparation and maintenance and working at our annual tournament, the Halloween Classic, held the latter part of October.

U8 / U9 / U10 Youth Academy

FSC is focused on player development. Our U8 through U10 competitive offering is based on the academy format and is aligned with US Youth Soccer and Indiana Youth Soccer best practices. This format focuses on the development of EVERY player, regardless of their physical or technical ability. Our coaching staff develops each player’s skills and game knowledge by working with the gender/age groups and not distinct teams. It is this modern, player centered approach to learning that develops creative, competitive players who are not scared of making mistakes. This approach is proven to produce better quality soccer players. During the outdoor season, players have the option of attending up to 3 practices per week. Our Academy participates in GIRLS and CIYSL.

U11-U14 Travel Program

Players attend tryouts for our U11 to U14 competitive teams. At the close of tryouts, teams will be formed and players who are selected will be offered spots on our teams. Teams will be designated as Red, White, Blue and Black with Red being the first team. All teams will be led by qualified coaching staff (trainer/coach/assistant coach) who work together under the guidance of the Director of Coaching to ensure the best training/game environment for our players to develop to the best of their ability. Training will focus on improving each player’s technical ability and game development (tactics) whilst keeping a strong emphasis on sportsmanship. All teams will have a training staff member at all practices and games regardless of the level of play. Teams will have three practice sessions a week with one session being group training allowing players to interact with those on other teams within their age group. Our travel teams participate in GIRLS, CIYSL, and ISL and are placed by ability and previous record. Tournaments are part of the travel experience. Our teams will work with our Director of Coaching to select which tournaments to apply. Each team has a maximum amount budgeted for tournaments which should cover up to 4 tournaments during the year the team is active. All U9 and older teams will attend the Halloween Classic.

Uniforms

In addition to registration fees, all players are required to purchase uniform and practice kits. Once the player is registered with Fishers SC, ordering of the gear will be arranged with you by our uniform coordinator.

Our base uniform kit includes one blue jersey, one white jersey, one blue short, and two pair of white socks for $105.50. Players may add a warm-up jacket, pant, and backpack for an additional $127.75. The complete package is $233.25. The 2010-11 season is the third and final year for our current uniform. It will be retired in June 2011.
